Our Speakers

Here to inspire and inform

Empowering education professionals to prioritise wellbeing is vital for fostering resilient, motivated, and thriving school communities. Our expert speakers are here to inspire, inform, and equip education staff with practical tools to enhance their wellbeing, emotional resilience, and workplace satisfaction. We work with Schools and MATs to inspire leaders to move wellbeing beyond the biscuits in the staff room, and to embed it at an organisational level to aid recruitment and retention.

Whether you're planning a conference, a headteacher cluster, trust conference or are looking for a keynote speaker for your next seminar, our dynamic speakers bring a wealth of experience and expertise to your audience. From addressing stress management and burnout prevention, raising awareness and creating menopause advocates, to addressing why staff wellbeing matters, our talks are tailored to meet the unique challenges faced by education staff and school leaders.

Julie Liddell

Julie has over 25 years of experience teaching Psychology, along with an enthusiasm for sharing simple, effective ways to improve wellbeing. Having worked in the post 16 sector both as a teacher and a Senior Manager, Julie has a genuine understanding of the current challenges facing education. Julie founded Still Human as she believes that when staff health and wellbeing are nurtured, it positively impacts both the individual and the whole school community.

Dr Mary Bilton

Mary has over 30 years of experience in the secondary education sector and over 10 years in delivering national professional teaching and learning qualifications. Whilst working with teachers from across the country, Mary recognised a widespread problem with teacher attrition and undertook academic research to explore the phenomenon further. It is this passion for retaining and nurturing teachers that drives her to develop and deliver the Still Human message of improving wellbeing in education.

She specialised in working in schools in areas of high deprivation, with a focus on raising outcomes for disadvantaged children, as well as improving wellbeing and cultural capital opportunities for the children and families. During her time as headteacher, she managed an additional resource provision (ARP) for pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) and is aware of the huge challenges working in the education sector has on staff.
